Keratin Treatments & Blow Outs
Have a busy lifestyle? Want your hair to dry faster? Want to
eliminate frizz? Want healthier, shinier hair? The only way to achieve this is
with a Keratin Treatment. Keratin is found in the cuticle of the hair. Hair can
be abused in many ways, i.e. color, perms, air pollutants, and every day
washing. Keratin Treatments when done the same day as color locks in the color
and brings the shine and softness back into the hair, increase strength,
condenses and detangles the hair. It contains Cyprosil Complex which reduces
processing, drying time up to 75%. Keratin Treatments bring the keratin back
into the cuticle of the hair, which results in amazing frizz free shine and
subtle hair. The treatment is not to straighten, although it results in
straighter hair. Depending on which one of our three Keratin treatments you
choose it will last for 6 weeks to 6 months.
The three different types that we offer are:
Express Blow Out:
This is our one hour service that
reduces frizz and curl in all hair types. This express treatment utilizes and
advanced co-polymer delivery system to penetrate the hair with keratin protein,
delivering soft, silky texture and more manageable hair without the wait. Will
reduce frizz, soften the hair, and decrease drying time for up to six weeks.
Must was a minimum of 8 hours after completing treatment to wash the hair and
only use a sodium chloride free shampoo. We sell Goldwell Kerasilk Cleansing
Conditioning Shampoo, Kevin Murphy
Shampoos, and ColorProof Shampoos that are are sodium chloride free.
Advanced Glycolic Smoothing Treatment: We recommend
an 11/2-2 hour window for this treatment.Features the key ingredient glycolic
acid to penetrate the cuticle, providing enhanced protection against frizz and
increased softness and manageability. This three-part, synergistic smoothing
system combines advanced glycolic technology with Keratin Complex’s signature
keratin to rejuvenate and defend the hair against breakage resulting from
previous chemical relaxing, thermal styling, coloring, decolorizing, and
mechanical manipulation. The treatment will reduce frizz , soften the hairs texture,
increase manageability, and softly blend the line of demarcation left by
previous chemical straighteners or relaxers. Results last up to three months,
depending on daily maintenance.
Natural Keratin Smoothing Treatment: Professional
keratin treatment that takes about 3 hours to complete. Leaves the hair
smoother, more manageable and healthier-looking with each treatment, and blocks
the effects of humidity to prevent frizz. It also cuts drying and styling time.
Results last up to five months. Ideal time to receive service is directly after
color service. The treatment will seal and extend the life of the color, making
it appear more vibrant. Must wait at least 72 hours before getting the hair wet
or using traditional shampoo. We suggest Keratin Complex Volumizing Dry Shampoo
to absorb excess oil from the scalp and refresh the hair.
We
are offering $60 OFF the Natural Keratin Smoothing Treatment!!!!! CALL TO
SCHEDULE TODAY!
We have also launched our Go Out Blow Outs service. We offer
3 different types of blow outs to choose from all of which are ONLY $35!!!

Balayage
By Don Stacy Patronelli
BALAYAGE
BALAYAGE
Balayage is one of the most popular hair trends this year! Balayage is a French word that means to sweep or to paint. It allows for a sun-kissed natural hair color with softer, less noticable regrowth lines. The pricipal idea being less is more when creating soft and natural looks.

This look will suit any legnth (except very short cropped hair) or color of hair. It also requires very little maintenance. This style grows out more naturally so you are less likely to see the regrowth lines. As long as you are using a color protecting shampoo and conditioner the color will hold longer. ( *Don't forget a heat protectant!*)

Now, there is a difference bewtween the bayalage and
ombre/sombre look.
V.S. Sombre
A sombre you may see more so on blondes and it is just a softer version of an ombre style. The key to achieving the sombre is to use more colors; taking the darker hue found at the roots and subtly weaving it through the lengths of the hair to ultimately create less of an abrupt contrast from roots to ends.
Healthy hair is attractive hair and that’ll never go out of fashion. Balayage gives a gorgeous healthy finish that looks nature-enhanced, glossy and expensive. It can be natural or strong, whatever you want, it’s all about the application technique.

Balayge V.S. Ombre
Well first Ombre is a 'Style' while Balayage is considered a 'technique'. Ombre comes from the French word shadow.Generally this style works better on brunettes because it is the least subtle. Ombre hair is usually darker at the roots through the mid-shaft and then it gradually gets lighter from mid-shaft to the ends.
A sombre you may see more so on blondes and it is just a softer version of an ombre style. The key to achieving the sombre is to use more colors; taking the darker hue found at the roots and subtly weaving it through the lengths of the hair to ultimately create less of an abrupt contrast from roots to ends.

Bob Cuts
Bob Cuts
We all know during the summer how hot it can be so why chop off your hair and try something new!!
A Bob Cut is a Short haircut for women in which the hair is typically cut straight around the head at about jaw-level, often with bangs in the front.
This style is really making a come back this year! A lot of celebrities are trying the choppy bob which is really cute if you are trying to acheive the 'messy' look!

The Bob has so many different forms the creativity never ends! Not only will this cut be easier to manage everyday but it is also super cute! Sometimes when it comes to cutting our hair we get scared and think it will turn out a total disaster. Don't worry about that at dsparada Color Salon because making you look your best is our stylists top priority.

Hair vs. Sun
by Don Stacy Patronelli
Hair vs. Sun
For those of you visiting the beach this summer or attending your neighborhood pool, you definitely want to make sure you're protecting your hair from the sun's rays. Many people think they only need to protect their skin, but hair suffers damage and aging just as much. Color as well as natural pigment from the hair will fade to due oxidation, lack of moisture and overall distress from the sun. Making sure you have UVA and UVB protection in your shampoo and conditioner is the first step. At dsparada we offer our clients ColorProof Evolved Color Care line.

The ColorProof line is sulfate and sodium free, which combats fadage and damage. With this combination of natural ingredients and new technology, ColorProof has provided a line with full UVA/UVB protection from those summer rays. The New Flex-shield technology offered in ColorProof's products protects the hair up to 450°F. Also, Nano-sized particles (1/50,000 the size of a human hair) penetrate deep into the hair, allowing strengthening and repair to it's fullest extent!

Keep your Hair Healthy this Summer!!
Keep your Hair Healthy this Summer!!
Many of us don't keep up with our hair during the summer and that's pretty much the main reason why your hair may become dry and brittle.
Here are some ways to help you prevent that dry and brittle look this summer:
Say goodbye to split ends and hello to shiny and luscious hair!
- Come into dsparada for a Haircut! - Sun can do more damage to hair that already is; So it is best to get a haircut before the summer heat is in full effect. Once you get that haircut it will probably be best to go back and see your stylist every 6 to 8 weeks for regular trims.
- Washing your Hair! - Try and look for a hydrating shampoo and conditioner if your not using anything to protect your hair in from the the sun. Make sure the product does not have any sulfates or sodium chloride; those ingredients weigh down your hair making it have less volume. For example here at dsparada we carry a line called Color Proof which is a Vegan line that uses no sulfates or sodium chloride. Also contains an anti-aging ingredient and certified organic botanicals. *Tip*- Do not wash as often for that can strip your scalp of the natural oils you need. Try only rinsing your hair after the pool or beach that day and shampoo the next.
- Keratin Treatments! - They can be expensive but totally worth it! Here at dsparada we offer these treatments starting at *$150. If you don't want to or can't spend the money on a keratin treatment there are great oils you can buy that will help keep your hair healthy.
- Argan Oil
- Coconut Oil
- Grape Seed Oil
- Avocado Oil
- Almond Oil
- Rosemary Oil
- Extra-virgin Olive Oil
- Jojoba Oil
There are literally tons of natural at home remedies for your hair that you can research. One method is to rub the oil you pick in your hair let it sit for about an hour then wash out using an all natural shampoo. Argan, coconut,and/or Extra-virgin olive oil works very well for those with thick unruly hair. For those with thin hair Pomegranate Seed and/or Rosemary Oil can do the trick by adding more life to the hair. Jojoba Oil is great for all hair types. After your appointment here at dsparada you can choose a styling aid that can also help maintain the health of your hair. (We carry Goldwell,Color Proof, and Kevin Murphy products.)
- Cover Up!- Sometimes the best thing you can do is just throw a hat or scarf on to protect you hair from the UV rays. Pulling you hair back will also work. Just make sure you spray a leave in conditioner to your ends, comb through and pull hair into ponytail. Also make sure to apply sunblock along the hairline once it is pulled back. *Tip* - Investing in good hair bands will help!! Don't forget if you have a straw hat UV rays can shine through so you may need an extra layer underneath the hat.

Color Corrections
By: Don Stacy Patronelli
Color corrections:
The expensive and damaging process
Hair color is supposed to convey a message about personality and taste in style, so when hair turns an undesirable color, most people tend to flip! Unfortunately, we all know someone that has used box dye and achieved a brassy, copper color he or she is distraught about. This poor individual is in need of a color correction. Usually the term color correction refers to the warm, orange tones often applied with poor quality dye and is often a do-it-yourself process. However, if a client has been coloring their hair dark brown for the last 4 years, and all of the sudden they want to put in full highlights, a color correction process is necessary in order for the highlights to come out in a desired tone.
When stylists lighten hair, color pigment is being taken out, not put into the hair. Along with the pigment, proteins and nutrients leave the hair as well. This is why clients often have damaged hair and need some sort of treatment to bring it back to life. That's why products like the Ola Plex are so magical! Ola Plex is a treatment agent that multiplies bonds and cross-links broken bonds so the lightening process is much more gentle on hair! It can be used in color or as a treatment option on its own. With the Ola Plex now entering the hair industry, stylists are now able to lift color by many more levels. Although new breakthroughs are being reached, clients are still looking at a few salon appointments to achieve a dramatic color correction (black to blonde).
Color correction is not only a time consuming process for the stylist, but it's very expensive for the client. This is another reason stylists cannot stress enough to visit the salon before contemplating putting that new Burgundy box dye in your hair, especially on top of blonde tones. There are some stylists out there that charge up to 200 dollars on hour for their time and its possible a client spends 4 hours in a salon. That's a hefty bill and not everyone can afford something like that. If a client want a fun color, we always recommend visiting a salon, so at least quality products are being put into your hair. It's much easier when the stylist has the information on the history of the client's hair. Remember to weigh out the consequences of both your hair's health and bank account before putting foreign colors on top of your head!
